Piano Lessons in Herndon, VA

Commitment:
When students enroll, they are reserving their placement in the studio for the entire school year (September - June). Tuition is charged by the term and is payment for the student's whole course of music study, payable in advance by 2, 4 or 10 monthly installments from September through June.

Registration Fee:
An annual registration fee of $75 is due July 1, 2015 to cover the costs of recital venue, tuning, Spring Festival, studio lending library and incentive rewards/programs. Other optional events offered throughout the year have additional registration fees (Baroque Festival, Holiday Concert at Dulles Mall, etc.) Student materials and music are not included in this fee.

Tuition:
Tuition is based upon enrollment for 30 weeks of private instruction (September - June), 4 Group Classes, one studio recital, one studio performance class, and a fall studio party. The annual tuition fee for 2016/2017 is $1300 for weekly 30-minute lessons and $1850 for 45-minute lessons. You may choose to pay in 2, 5 or 10 equal installments. Tuition is nonrefundable. Payment for piano lessons is due in full whether the student attends each scheduled lesson or not. Each student is scheduled for a specific weekly time slot. Your payment reserves that time slot. Student materials and music are not included in this fee.

Payment Due Date/Late Fee: 
If you choose to pay in 10 equal installments, payment is due at the first day of each month. If you choose to pay in 2 equal installments, payment is due September 1st and February 1st. If you choose to pay in 5 equal installments, payment is due September 1st, November 1st, January 1st, March 1st, and May 1st. There is a late fee of $10.00 for each week payment is past due. Please include the late fee with your late payment.

What Else Tuition Covers: 

  • Tuition covers not only the contact time spent with the student, but also the time spent in preparation for the student.
  • An individualized plan for the student's course of study
  • Development of teaching materials
  • Recitals, including preparation of programs and refreshments
  • Professional organization memberships to enhance teaching skills and provide students with opportunities for competitions, exams, and festivals
  • Piano tuning and repairs
  • Continuing education


Online Billpay: 
You have the option of paying your tuition online by logging into Music Teachers Helper or through PayPal. You do not have to have a Paypal account to pay online.


Terminating Lessons:
The teacher may terminate lessons due to negative behavior, failure to practice, or failure to comply with studio etiquette.  Terminating lessons before the end of the year (September - June) must be by mutual agreement between the teacher and parent.  Any termination initiated by the parent or student requires at least 1 month written notice.
